‘Rake-n-Run’

LEWISTON – The Lewiston High School Key Club will host its annual Rake-n-Run community service project in the Lewiston/Auburn area Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 24 and 25 and Dec. 1 and 2.

Those who need help raking a yard should contact [email protected] or 782-3795. Donations will be appreciated.

Rotary speaker

AUBURN – Jonathan LaBonte, president of the board of directors of the Androscoggin Land Trust, will be the featured speaker of the Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Auburn Methodist Church, Park Avenue. Fellowship

AUBURN – The Young at Heart Fellowship will meet at noon Tuesday, Nov. 27, to attend the Advent service in the sanctuary of the Court Street Baptist Church. A luncheon will follow in the vestry. The business meeting will take place after the luncheon.

A special program has been planned – a variety talent show featuring local individuals. All senior citizens are invited.

Seniors party

AUBURN – The Sacred Heart Golden Age Club will have a Christmas party on Tuesday, Dec. 11, in the church hall. The buffet will be served at noon and will include chicken breast, beef chop suey, glazed carrots, mashed potatoes, gravy, tossed salad and dressing, fruit salad, dinner rolls, carrot cake and cheese cake with strawberries.

Members should purchase tickets on or before Tuesday, Dec. 4. Paula will be available in the church hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4.

Entertainment will be provided by Lorraine Ouellette with her accordion and there will be a Christmas sing-a-long. For more information, call Paula at 576-4082 or Irene at 782-6443.

Plant sales

AUBURN – The Lewiston/Auburn Rotary members are in the community selling poinsettias. Proceeds go back into the community. Those who would like to purchase poinsettias should contact Phil Nadeau at 513-3121, ext. 3201.

The annual Christmas tree sale will begin on Friday, Nov. 23, in the Shaw’s parking lot in Auburn.

Rotary is dedicated to raising funds in order to benefit the community. Those interested in learning more about Rotary or becoming a member may attend a noon meeting on Thursdays at noon at the Ramada or visit www.lewistonauburnrotary.org.

Montello fair

LEWISTON – Montello Manor on College Street will have a craft fair from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. Proceeds will benefit the resident activity fund.

They are looking for crafters who would like to rent a table and sell crafts. For more information, call Mary Lou Dow at 783-2039.

Silent auction

TURNER – The Turner Public Library is holding a silent auction of handcrafted items through Saturday, Dec. 8.

They are on display for bidding at 98 Matthews Way every Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 7 p.m. and every Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon. For more information, call Joan Pedersen at 225-3501.

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Nov. 19 were: first, Nancy Lindgren and Pete Cummings; second, Linda Leotsakos and Patricia Quinn; third/first in B, Paul Mitnik and Henry Lerette; fourth/second in B/first in C, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird; fifth/third in B, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; fourth in B/second in C, Claire Lyons and Larry Fortier.
