OXFORD – Anderson Staples Post 112, American Legion, and Auxiliary will offer individuals the chance to honor family members, friends, veterans and special people in their lives at a tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the post home on King Street.
Families are encouraged to attend as Santa and Mrs. Claus help light the tree. Everyone will then be asked to join the Legionnaires and Auxiliary in the post hall to participate in a short ceremony.
Cub Scout Pack 196 will lead in a Pledge of Allegiance. Commander Al Healey and President Linda Jack will read the names of those individuals who have been honored with a light on the tree.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will give children who attend a small gift from the Legionnaires and Auxiliary. Refreshments will be served.
