LEWISTON – Jeannette L. Bonenfant, 92, of Lewiston, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, at d’Youville Pavilion, where she had been a resident for the past six months. Prior to that, she lived at Montello Manor for seven years, and made her home for many years at 22 Golder St. in Lewiston.

Born in Lewiston on July 19, 1915, she was the daughter of Evariste and Mary Deschenes Bonenfant. Educated in local schools, she was employed as a bookkeeper for the First Federal Savings & Loan for 32 years, retiring at age 64.

A devoted member of Saints Peter & Paul Parish, she was a former member of the Liturgical Committee, and served as a lector, eucharistic minister, and church librarian.

She was also a member of the Art Patronage, was active in several local theater and drama groups, and for many years served as a Girl Scout troop leader.

Survivors include a brother, Marcel and wife, Jeannette, of Sabattus; a sister, Sister Pauline Bonenfant, O.P., of Sabattus; a sister-in-law, Therese Tessier of Lincoln, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Leopold; and a sister, Sister Celine Bonenfant, O.P.
