Dear Sun Spots: After seeing an inquiry in Sun Spots about a woman who found a class ring, my heart stopped.

I thought it might be my ring. It was lost over 45 years ago when my husband lost it and didn’t tell me. My class reunion is in 2009. I hope to live long enough to attend, as I have pancreatic cancer.

If anyone has found it, I would be so grateful. It was a 1959, Edward Little High School ring.

I would love to have it back. I can be reached at 783-6256. – Patricia Morrison, Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: My cousin and I are searching for information on Grammy Flagg who was either a relative or a family friend of our ancestors, the Vinages or Prestons in Weld, Carthage or Temple in the late 1800s or early 1900s.

It’s believed that she helped families with the birth and care of young children and possibility the elderly as well.

Her name could have been changed when she came to one of these areas. She could have been Julia Show or Nellie Jane? Or maybe her name was something else all together.

Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. I can be reached at 347 New Vineyard Road, Farmington or via phone at 778-2673.

Thank you for your helpful service. – Lois Hall, Farmington.

Dear Sun Spots: I am writing for a friend who is looking for directions for a knitted hat to make for her grandchildren. It has ear flaps and ties under the chin.

It also has a pompom or a tassel on the top of the hat. It is similar to what a lot of the skiers wear. I hope somebody can please help me and I will gladly pay to have the pattern copied and sent to me. I appreciate any help you can give me on this. I can be reached at 562-7660. Thanks. – Peggy, Dixfield.

Dear Sun Spots: Again, thanks for all the help you provide!

Concerning Rene Michaud of New Gloucester who wanted to know if others had bought and were happy with the Eden Pure heater (Sun Spots request Nov. 15): I’d appreciate it if the answer was published for the rest of us! We’re having to consider alternatives, also.

Now a question for Sun Spots:

Where can I find Royal Instant Cheesecake mix? There are plenty of the Jello brand everywhere, and not long ago WalMart was carrying the Royal, but now I can’t find it at all.

Also, if anyone else has missed being able to find Lestoil almost anywhere, I finally located some at the IGA in Greene and at Shaw’s in Auburn.

Again, thank you, Sun Spots, for your great service! – No Name, No Town.

Answer: Regarding your cheesecake search, you might consider contacting the company to see if you might be able to purchase it from them. According to their Web site, www.jelsert.com, there does not appear to be a local source. To order products online, call 888-281-6400 or write to them at Route 59 & Conde Street, West Chicago, IL 60185.

Dear Sun Spots: You were kind enough to get me an address for a man in Lewiston who buys records. I have misplaced it and would sure appreciate it if you would print it for me again. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
Contact Bill Cartmel of Lewiston.

You may reach him at 783-1378. Cartmel travels all over New England purchasing records, and typically purchases 33 rpm and 45 rpm records, and will even buy some 78s. In addition, Cartmel says he knows a lot about music from the 1960s and pre-1960s.

You might want to also contact Enterprise Records, 613 A Congress St., Portland, 773-7672. Please leave them a message if you have records to sell.
