Church on the Hill planning holiday fair
DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Church on the Hill will open its doors to a Christmas fair at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, beginning with a men’s breakfast.
The booths will open at 8 a.m., and, in addition to the usual raffles, candy and the children’s cookie walk, the men’s table will sponsor a silent auction, including a country breakfast basket, a church photo, an original painting by Dixfield artist Robert Gross, a handmade stuffed snowman and other treasures.
There will be a second-hand table with books, puzzles and other items to put in “a bag for $2” and a craft table with Christmas gifts.
Marj Kennedy and Shane Jamison will have homemade pies, cakes and squares on the bake table and the men will sell aged cheese and baked beans. Lunchtime will feature Leslie Skibitsky’s chicken and biscuits.
Fair chair women Nancy Tapley and Paula MacDonald announce that Santa will be at the early breakfast to visit with the children. The candy table will be open at that time. There are still a few church cookbooks on hand, and orders will be taken for wreaths. Skibitsky will decorate wreaths to order. Call her at 562-7095.
