LEWISTON – The monthly gathering of “La Rencontre” will take place at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at the Franco-American Heritage Center, 46 Cedar St.

Every month a group of approximately 300 people gather for lunch and a musical program. During the two-hour period everyone is expected to speak French.

The December program will feature the French group, “Just Us,” presenting a Christmas program and sing-along.

The meal will be chicken soup and a choice of a lobster roll or chicken salad sandwich and chips followed by dessert and beverage. The price is $7 a person and reservations are required by calling Claudette at 786-6936 or the center at 783-1585.
