LEWISTON – Oxford Networks, headquartered at 491 Lisbon St., recently promoted Mark Van Loan to director of network operations.

Van Loan is responsible for oversight and management of the technical operations and functions of the company, including optical transport, installation and repair, central office switching, and the network operations center, which provides technical support and problem resolution for Oxford Networks’ customers

Van Loan previously was sales engineer and project manager at Oxford. Prior to joining Oxford Networks, he was a senior systems engineer at Workgroup Technology Partners in Westbrook, and prior to that was IT manager at Advantage Payroll in Auburn. He also held multiple positions at Taylor Communications, including systems engineer, sales engineer, project manager and routing/switching installation technologist.

Van Loan earned an associate degree in computer science at Andover College and holds several Cisco certifications.

Van Loan lives in Norway with his wife and four children.
