School fair

PARIS – Paris Elementary School will hold a craft fair at the new school on High Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.

There will be more than 25 crafters, and breakfast and lunch will be sold by the sixth-grade class. A cookie walk will be held, and children may make a craft and take it home.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be set up and there will be basket raffles, with each filled by a class. Poinsettias will be on sale. Limited space may still be available; contact Dianne at 743-7268.

Teddy Bear dance

PARIS – The Swingin’ Bears square dance club will hold a Teddy Bear dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Oxford Hills Middle School, Pine Street, Paris.

Teddy bears or other stuffed toys are collected for Right Start Christmas For Kids through Community Concepts. John Thompson, club caller, will call the square dancing, alternating between class level and plus level.

Gift exchange

WEST PARIS – The West Paris Historical Society held the last meeting for 2007 on in the hall on Nov. 19. Speakers from Western Maine Mineral Adventures were Jim Clanin and Jody and Zoltan Matolsky. Frank Perham also spoke.

Members agreed to rent a table at the craft sale at the Agnes Gray School on Dec. 2. The next meeting will be at Elaine Emory’s home on High Street at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, for coffee, dessert and gag gift exchange. Members should take a gift for a child for Christmas for Kids.
