LEWISTON – Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice’s second annual Home for the Holidays Celebration, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, has been moved to the Poland Spring Inn.

“The location of the event has been moved from the museum at Poland Spring Preservation Park to the Poland Spring Inn. The museum is undergoing renovations that will not be completed by the time of the event,” said Laurie Winsor, AHCH director of marking and development.

“Both are on the same campus, with the inn being located at the top of the hill. It will not cause confusion for those attending. In addition, moving to the inn provides a historic Victorian atmosphere to the event,” she said.

The event will include a silent auction of holiday centerpieces created by local businesses and groups. Proceeds will benefit AHCH home care and hospice services.

“We will have a great selection of centerpieces available for bidding, including gingerbread houses. Volunteers have spent many hours working on the event.

We are very thankful to Cyndi Robbins, owner of the Poland Spring Inn, for making the facility available to us,” said Winsor.

The celebration will include the AHCH Remembrance Tree decorated with handpainted ornaments. The 2007 ornament can be seen on the AHCH Web site under What’s New. The organization has also planned games and crafts for children, photos and story time with Santa, a book fair and dessert and beverage bar. Admission is free.
