School garden

NORWAY – A meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, in the Rowe Elementary School cafeteria to plan a garden for the school.

The purpose is to teach children about gardens and to supplement the food in the cafeteria with fresh produce. All parents, children and other community members are welcome. Anyone interested in starting a garden at another school is also welcome.

Tree lighting

NORWAY – A tree lighting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Norway Rehab and Living Center, 29 Marion Ave. All money raised will go to the Christmas for Teens program.

Grange meeting

WEST PARIS – West Paris Grange 298 will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the grange hall.

AARP to meet

PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter, AARP, will meet on Monday, Dec. 10, at the First Congregational Church, East Main St., South Paris. Lunch will be at noon and reservations are required by calling Thelma at 743-6124 by noon Friday, Dec. 7. leaving name and number. The menu is honey-glazed chicken with trimmings and eggnog pie and cost is $6.50.

A Christmas party will begin at 1 p.m. Theresa Clifton of Littlefield’s Flowers and Gifts will demonstrate making small Christmas arrangements. There will be Christmas surprises for all.

Members should take canned goods for the food bank and a total of volunteer hours for the past year.

The winter weather cancellation policy is to meet the following day, Tuesday. Cancellations will be announced on radio WOXO 92.7 or if school has been canceled. There will be no meeting in January.
