Special meeting

AUBURN – A special meeting of Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. Officers will confer the degrees of the order.

All Eastern Star members are invited to welcome the new member. Refreshments will be served in the dining hall following the meeting.

DAR dinner

LISBON FALLS – Regent Sheila Desgrosseilliers has announced that Burnt Meadow Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at the home of Jayne Bickford at noon Saturday Dec. 8. The annual Christmas dinner will be served followed by the sharing of Christmas traditions and exchange of gifts.

Hummel chapter

LEWISTON – Nor’easter Maine Chapter, M.I. Hummel Collector’s Club, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. New members and anyone interested in Hummels are welcome. OES meeting

WALES – Lakeside Chapter 60, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Grange and Masonic Hall, 322 Centre Road, for a potluck supper provided by attending members.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a “Christmas Memories” program. Members decided at the last meeting to take up a collection for the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta. It is being done instead of a gift exchange.

At the last meeting, Thelda Dobbins, a 75-year member, was presented a certificate of appreciation from Worthy Grand Matron Rebecca S. Bibber, Worthy Grand Patron Brent H. Jones and Grand Secretary Corley A. Byras.

Members are expecting Rowena Wright, a 50-year member, and Rudy Gayton, a 25-year member, to attend and receive their pins. The next meeting will be March 11.
