The season for the Tripp Tigers seventh grade football has started out great. We have won every game we have played. Most have been close for us but we still pull out a win.
Our closes game was against the Brunswick Dragons, 12-8. We kicked off to them to start the game. They marched down the field to the two yard line but when they went to throw the ball, David Hersom put a lot of pressure on the QB. The QB decided to throw in to coverage and was picked off by Josh Bunker. The game was back and forth, we had the ball then they had the ball, that went on for along time until the second quarter. Tyson Nichols ran the ball breaking tackles and faking people out, and scored a touchdown. We went for a two point conversion put failed to get in the end zone. At the end of the second quarter the dragons rushed down the field for a touchdown and got the two point conversion. That was the end of the second quarter. In the second half we came back to score another touchdown, this time we failed to score the two point conversion. The dragons got the ball in the fourth quarter but got stopped on a fourth down which gave us the ball back. All we had to do now was hold on to the ball and we would win. That’s exactly what we did. This was probably our best game we played this year.
Hopefully our season stays this way and we go undefeated. It wouldn’t surprise me because we are a good team that works together.
