The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case that will decide if people have a right to protect themselves, the right to bear arms, in Washington, D.C.

The right to bear arms is guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Lawbreakers can always get guns on the black market, so what would happen if an armed person breaks into a home and the homeowner’s right to have a gun has been banned? Let’s say the homeowner runs to the kitchen to grab a knife, only to be shot by the intruder with the gun.

If the Supreme Court bans handguns in Washington, D.C., the rest of the country would be next.

The Supreme Court justices should be very careful with their decision. If the right to bear arms is taken away, I believe people will revolt.

The Constitution guarantees the right for people to bear arms. Guns don’t kill people; people kill people.
