FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington Business Economics Program and the Center for Human Development recently hosted the second annual College to Corporate Networking Program for junior and senior business students, faculty and staff at the Olsen Student Center.
“This event offered our students a real-world look at how to succeed in today’s job market,” said Stephen Davis, UMF career counselor. “Increasing student awareness of both regional and international company expectations can jump start their careers.”
The event featured professionals from eight Maine businesses, including Stephen Racioppi and Nel Talbot, Bank of America; Katie Wellman, Enterprise Rent-A-Car; Mike Engert, Experience; Joanna Backman, Franklin Memorial Hospital; Sharon Cullenberg, (UMF class of 1978), Notify MD; Chris Torrey, Ocean Properties; and Andrew Kemmeur (UMF class of 2003), OFFICETEAM.
The program included employer recommendations during the job search process, resume expectations and offered comparisons of the hiring and interviewing practices of the participating companies.
