Dear Sun Spots: I have just talked with Blanche Newell about her request in your column. I remembered Zagnut Bars, not Cag nut Bars. I found them on the Web, so she is going to ask her son to order them for her.
Thanks so much for this wonderful column. You helped me greatly a few years back. Sincerely. – Maggie Houlihan, No Town.
Dear Sun Spots: It’s possible that Ms. Newell’s brother could be hunting for Zagnut, a candy bar rather like a Clark bar but without a chocolate coating. I recently saw Zagnuts in the Vermont Country Store catalog. They often arrange for revivals of formerly sold candies.
Zagnuts were popular in the South when I lived there, partially because of the lack of chocolate. Nothing melted in your lunchbox!
I do enjoy your column daily. – No Name, Temple.
Dear Sun Spots: You had someone looking for Cag Nut bars. I think it might be Zagnut bars she was looking for. The are like a Butterfinger with coconut. These are my husband’s favorite also. I find them at CVS, Rite Aid and sometimes Shaw’s, and different convenience stores. Hope this helps. Happy Holidays. – Dolly, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: Can you tell me what happened to Nikita Hairton? She hasn’t been seen on Channel 13 for a while.
Also, has Campbell Brown had her baby yet? – Wanting to Know, No Town.
Answer: Sun Spots checked in with Robb Atkins at WGME who says Nikita is living in New York City, where she is pursuing broadcast opportunities. Atkins notes that she wanted to move to NYC to be near family and friends.

Dear Sun Spots: We found a Lewiston High School 1987 Class ring that we’d like to get to its rightful owner. Please contact us at 375-8641 if you believe this is your ring or if you might know who this belongs to. – Paula Anctil, Sabattus.
