HARMONY (AP) – A Central Maine woman got out of her car just before it exploded into flames.
Police say Doreen Bowley’s car slipped off the unsanded road in Harmony on Saturday.
Teresa McEwen, a newspaper carrier for Waterville’s Morning Sentinel, stopped to help and told Bowley to get out of the car because it was smoking. Bowley got out and the car caught fire that was so intense it blew out the windows.
Somerset County Sheriff’s Deputy Niles Bowman Police say Bowley got out just in time.
