AUGUSTA (AP) – State police have arrested two men in connection with a series of home burglaries in Central Maine, two of which involved the theft of wrapped Christmas toys and presents.
Forty-three-year-old Karl Kittridge of Chelsea was charged with five counts of burglary and 39-year-old Troy Hallett of Hallowell was charged with three counts. The break-ins occurred in Monmouth, Waldoboro, Litchfield, Chelsea and Windsor while the homes’ occupants were away.
State Police said the items recovered included electronic equipment, televisions, jewelry, computers, digital cameras, money and several Christmas gifts still in their wrapping paper.
Many of the stolen items were found at the suspects’ homes.
