LEWISTON – Martin C. Campbell, 83, of 390 Main St., Greene, passed away early Thursday, Dec. 20, at Central Maine Medical Center with family at his side.
He was born in Calais, Oct. 1, 1924, a son of William and Ella Mae (Towers) Campbell. He was educated in Greene schools, but remained a lifelong resident of the greater Lewiston-Auburn area.
On April 17, 1948, he married the former Albina Wilson. He was a veteran of the military, having served his country in the Army during World War II. He worked at Bates Manufacturing for 45 years until his retirement in 1980, and was a member of North Monmouth Pentacostal Assembly Church.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Albina Campbell of Greene; two sons, Martin C. Campbell Jr. of Greene and Marvin W. Campbell and his wife, Madeleine, of Greene; a granddaughter, Brandi Campbell; and two great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Dylon Fish.
He was predeceased by nine sisters and brothers.
