FARMINGTON – A surprise party was held recently for Richard and Barbara Titcomb of Farmington, on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary.

A noon luncheon was served by the family at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Tyler. Decorations were gold bells and balloons and the cake was decorated in fall leaves and a bouquet of flowers in fall colors, which was like their wedding.

Great-granddaughter, Kayla Bard of Farmington, cut the cake. A special scrapbook was presented to the couple from their children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. They all worked on the scrapbook. The couple enjoyed the sharing of memories.

Mr. Titcomb and the former Barbara L. Beale were married Oct. 11, 1947, at the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, by the Rev. Walter Cook. The only wedding attendant still living is Bruce Jillson of Wilton, who was the five-year-old ring bearer.

Their children are Rodney R. Titcomb and Louise Tyler and their grandchildren are Lisa Burrill, Angie Burrill, Eric Titcomb, Carrie and Heather Titcomb and Mathew Tyler. Their great-granddaughter is Kayla Bard.

Mrs. Titcomb is a homemaker and is a retired fly tier. Mr. Titcomb is retired from Bass Shoe.
