LEWISTON – Georgette Y. Doustou, 72, of Lewiston, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

Born in Lewiston on Nov. 4, 1935, she was the daughter of Antonio and Irene Fournier Nadeau. She attended St. Peter’s School and graduated from Lewiston High School.

On April 24, 1954, she married Lewis R. Doustou at Saints Peter and Paul Church.

In her early years, she worked at Weymouth Shoe Co., Mammoth Mart and CVS in Lewiston, as well as at K-Mart in Auburn. She was a homemaker and spent the last 30 years babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed doing word puzzles, and playing Beano and cards with her family and friends.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind her husband of 53 years; three sons, Ronald of Auburn, Richard and wife, Diane, of Turner, and Robert of Lewiston; a sister, Pauline and husband, Claude Lubier, of Augusta; a sister-in-law, Pauline Nadeau of Waterville; five grandchildren, Kelly Doustou of Lisbon, Leanna and husband, Jacob Cain, of Lewiston, Jenalee and husband, William Hill, of Allentown, Pa., Kyle Doustou of Washington, D.C., and Nicole Doustou of Wales; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Doustou of Lisbon, Ashante Hill of Allentown, Pa., and Baylee Cain of Lewiston. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her fourth great-grandchild, Lucy Cain, in February.

She also leaves behind many other family members and friends.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Raymond; and two infant sisters, Therese and Georgette.
