Just who does Sun Journal sports writer Randy Whitehouse think he is, anyway?
Does he like any other team in football beside those newly resurrected Patriots? Week after week he continues to cut down every other team in professional football, both in the AFC and the NFC. It doesn’t seem to matter to him.
Of all people, he seems to be the king of the bandwagoners of New England.
It’s easy to be a Patriots fan now … now that the team is winning. It’s a very easy team to like because it is winning. But I’m tired of the bias. Does he have to insult the fans of football in this state who are not Patriots fans? He attacks fans who have been backing other teams for 25 or more years, loyal fans, who stick with their teams through turmoil and misery; hanging in there through the tough times.
I would guess that many current Patriots fans became fans only in the new millennium, when the team started winning. These fair-weather, jump-on-the-bandwagon fans are a joke. They don’t care that the season may, in fact, be tainted. They walk around with their hats and shirts, claiming to have been Patriots fans forever (maybe six or seven years).
All too soon the glass slipper will be smashed, and the thrift stores will be loaded with deals on all Patriots apparel – right next to the Barry Bonds merchandise.
