Phil Meldrum lifts his Nordic skies while approaching a small bridge at Thorncrag Nature Sanctuary in Lewiston on Friday. Meldrum, of Lewiston, said he has been cross-country skiing on the series of trails for years, and the new parking lot makes the trails more accessible. Meldrum’s Bushwhacker skis are 30 years old. “It’s time for a new pair,” he said.
