FARMINGTON FALLS – An open house was held July 28 for John and Virginia Pond of Farmington Falls, in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.
They were married July 14, 1947, in Fort Fairfield.
The party was hosted by their daughter and son-in-law, Mike and Linda Collins, their granddaughter, Jennifer, and her husband, Peter Rackliff, and great-granddaughter, Megan Rackliff, and granddaughter, Carielle Collins.
A buffet lunch was served along with an anniversary cake decorated with yellow roses. The couple was presented a yellow rose corsage and boutonniere.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Pond was part-time postmistress for the Farmington Falls Post Office for 40 years. Mr. Pond retired from Hammond Lumber in Farmington.
Many friends and family members attended from all over Maine.
