Dear Sun Spots: We are looking for someone who would like to make a donation to benefit the Snomad Freestyle Team and in return they’ll get to ski for free this season!

If you are able to donate $700 to the independent, not-for-profit “SNOMAD Freestyle Team,” you will make it possible for dozens of local kids to compete and train on the same ski mountains you enjoy.

In return, we can offer you one full adult season pass to Lost Valley and five unrestricted adult day tickets to Sunday River (valued at $760)! The first one to jump, gets the powder!

Please contact Liz Rollins at 653-5325. – Liz Rollins, Auburn Middle School, Auburn.

Dear Sun Spots: This past July the Edward Little High School class of ’72 held their 35th class reunion. It was the first one I’d been to one in 20 years and I had a wonderful time. I also took a good amount of pictures. Since I didn’t know any other way to share them with classmates, I have set up a Yahoo group for anyone who might be interested in checking it out. The Web site is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EL72reunion2007/.

I would also like to offer this group as a means for classmates to reconnect with each other without having to pay the fee charged at classmates.com. I cordially invite any of my classmates or other interested parties to visit the site. This could also be a good forum for those who are members of groups like non-profits or theater groups to post notices of upcoming events.

I hope some will come and check us out. – Martha R. (Powell) Burnell, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: When might we expect to see a review of the Wheel of Fortune which aired Dec. 7 with Julie Bennett on. We are sorry we missed seeing it, as are many others I have talked to.

We love your column as so many others do. – No Name, Lewiston.

Answer: Sun Spots is not aware of any reviews of shows that have aired for this particular series. Perhaps you have some additional information you’d like to share with us to assist in obtaining an answer for you.

In the meantime, perhaps you caught Sun Journal reporter Lindsay Tice’s article published Dec. 8, following Bennett’s half-hour appearance on the program?

Bennett’s final tally? Nearly $19,000 in cash, $2,500 on a debit card and a European vacation worth more than $8,000.

The Edward Little High School teacher solved three puzzles, but it was her luck at the wheel that was most startling, Tice wrote. Bennett’s spins routinely skirted by “lose a turn” and “bankrupt” to settle on, among other things, a free spin, a wild card and a $10,000 bonus.

Her streak of luck impressed even longtime host Pat Sajak.

Bennett, 25, auditioned when the “Wheelmobile” came to the Yarmouth Clam Festival in July. A month later, she was invited to the second round of auditions.

She was ultimately chosen for the game show, and she received two-weeks notice that she’d be taping on Nov. 15. She had days to pull together a whirlwind vacation to California, since contestants are responsible for getting themselves to the studio. Bennett’s boyfriend, Craig Latuscha, also a government teacher at EL, went with her.
