DIXFIELD – Police have responded to a slew of accidents during the past few weeks, largely due to snowstorms. No serious injuries were reported, but lots of vehicles were damaged, as were utility poles, and one deer was among the casualties.

• At 8:20 p.m. on Dec. 13, David Crutchfield, 41, of Carthage, struck and killed a deer as he was traveling east along Weld Street. His 2002 Toyota pickup truck sustained $700 damage.

• At 3:49 p.m. on Dec. 14, Diane Hamilton, 55, of Harlow Hill Road, Mexico, lost control of her 2000 Subaru as she was traveling west along Canton Point Road. The road was covered with snow and ice. The vehicle slammed against a guardrail on the opposite side of the road. The Subaru sustained $2,500 damage.

• Also on Dec. 14, at 11:15 p.m., George W. Easter, 59, of Averill Road, Dixfield, struck a utility pole as he was driving his 1994 Plymouth van north on Weld Street. The vehicle sustained $1,500 damage.

• A 6:20 a.m. accident on Dec. 17 on Canton Point Road resulted in damage to a guardrail by a 1993 Jeep Cherokee driven by Kelly Lee, 40, of Canton.

• Jeffrey M. Jamison, 44, of Carthage, struck and broke a utility pole as he drove his 2003 sports utility vehicle north on Weld Street at 2:45 p.m., Dec. 16. The vehicle sustained $2,000 damage.

• Vehicles driven by Clifford G. Bradbury, 32, of High Street, Dixfield, and Clyde E. Garland, 49, of Mattawamkeag, collided at 5:36 p.m. on Dec. 21. Bradbury’s 1997 Jeep sports utility vehicle sustained $2,500 damage. Garland’s 2000 Peterbilt tractor-trailer truck, owned by Superior Carriers Inc. of Illinois, sustained $800 damage.

• Vehicles driven by Herbert Guppy, 57, of East Dixfield, and Michael Adams, 20, of Dixfield, collided at 1:20 p.m., Dec. 31, in the parking lot of a convenience store in East Dixfield. Guppy’s 2003 Ford pickup sustained $2,500 damage. Adams’ 1997 Toyota pickup sustained $750 damage.

• Vehicles driven by Rebbecca Reece, 33, of Franklin Street, Rumford, and Martin Hamner, 50, of Morrison Hill Road, Dixfield, collided at 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 29, on Morrison Hill along Route 2. Reece’s 1991 Buick sedan sustained $1,000 damage. Hamner’s 2001 Jeep Cherokee sustained $600 damage.

The Reece/Hamner accident and a routine check on drivers and passengers resulted in the arrest of Dana Ingerson, 21, Franklin Street, Rumford, on an outstanding warrant. Ingerson was released from the Dixfield Police Department on $515 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in 11th District Court, Northern Oxford Division, on Feb. 7.

Arrest

Meghann Donahue, 18, First Street, Dixfield, domestic assault, at 11 a.m., Dec. 25, on an incident that occurred the day before on First Street. She was released from the Dixfield Police Department on $10,000 surety. She is scheduled to appear in 11th District Court, Northern Oxford Division, on March 4.

Vandalism

Several incidents of homes and cars shot with paintball guns were reported on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31, on High Street and Pine Street. The vandalism is believed to be associated with similar incidents reported in Rumford.
