AUBURN – A Hebron woman remained in critical condition Thursday night, three days after the sport utility vehicle she was in slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer on Center Street.
Central Maine Medical Center listed Cristel Bosse, 24, in critical condition from injuries she suffered in the 8:20 p.m. collision Monday.
The 2001 Dodge SUV Bosse was riding in was driven by Kerri A. Champagne, 22, of Auburn. Police said Champagne, Bosse and Chantal Bernier, 23, whose address was not available, left Flagship Cinema and entered Center Street when and Champagne lost control on black ice.
Meanwhile, the driver of the rig is still unknown. Police said there were signs that the driver stopped and looked at the back of the rig but probably did not realize it had been struck. It pulled away before emergency vehicles arrived.
Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000.
The accident remains under investigation, Lt. Tim Cougle said Thursday night.
