LEWISTON – An Auburn man faces several drug charges after police said he attempted to raid a crash cart filled with medical supplies at an area hospital on Saturday night.
Joshua Waterman, 20, 151 Pleasant St., Auburn, was charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, stealing drugs and possession of hypodermic apparatuses.
Lewiston police Lt. James Minkowsky said Waterman went to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center seeking treatment and was observed stealing items from a cart as hospital personnel prepared to discharge him. He said that Waterman attempted to evade hospital staff, but was tackled by a security guard who held him until police arrived.
