PARIS – 4-H throughout Oxford County is entering into a busy season. Cross County Ski Day is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Carter’s Ski Center in Oxford and offers 4-H members, families and friends a day outdoors on the trials.

The annual 4-H Showcase is scheduled for March to be held at the Extension Office in South Paris. Members will showcase their talents, highlighting what they have accomplished during the year in demonstrations, dance and visual arts. It gives 4-H’ers the chance to meet other members and see projects.

UMaine Day at the Legislature will be Thursday, March 27. Members from legislators’ districts will participate as honorary pages. 4-H members age 13 and older are encouraged to sign-up through their county office for the program.

Maine 4-H Day will be held on June 27, 28 and 29, at the Windsor Fairgrounds. It is open to all 4-H members throughout the state.

National 4-H trips offered each year include Citizenship Washington Focus, National 4-H Congress and National 4-H Conference. Citizenship Washington Focus will be held July 5 to 12 for 4-H’ers ages 15 to 19. It gives members the opportunity to meet other 4-H members from across the country.

National 4-H Conference will be held March 29 through April 3.

For more information on any of the opportunities or to enroll in the program, members can contact Susan Jennings, Extension educator, 9 Olson Road, South Paris, ME 04281 or call 743-6329.
