I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Michael Moore’s film “Sicko.” Knowing Moore’s reputation, I was a bit apprehensive about the movie, but I have to admit, I, as well as others, walked away from it shocked and angry at the situation of this nation’s health care system.

Just seeing real people, with real medical situations, makes me realize that at any given time, I could be one of those people. I also realized that practically no one is safe with the health care system as it is now. The movie showed how insured people could not get treatments; how people could lose their homes and more in order to get medical help; and how some 47 million people don’t have insurance coverage, and why. The movie presented real people, like myself, and cases where the insurance industry ruined people.

I don’t believe anyone could see the movie without getting angry, upset or bewildered by it.

Even if people have their health today (and hopefully tomorrow), the day after that is unknown. People depend on their insurance to help keep their health.

After seeing the movie, I am in support of H.R. 676, universal health care.

The present system is broken, outdated and needs to be overhauled completely.
