Dear Sun Spots: It was with great regret that the board of directors of Classy Lady Boutique has decided to close the retail store at 272 Main St., Lewiston. Our last day of operation will be Jan. 21.
Sun Spots readers have been very generous to us in the past when we requested donations of the many different items needed to open a retail store. We are so grateful for that support.
Unfortunately, our retail sales do not support our expenses, and we must close.
For the remaining time, all items in the store are $1, so please shop until you drop! We have a large inventory of beautiful business clothing, as well as shoes, purses, scarves, jewelry and other accessories.
Our hours of operation will be: Wednesday noon to 4 p.m.; Thursday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone can shop in the store. It is open to the public.
Again, we are so grateful for the past support from Sun Spots and your readers. Without that support, we would not have been able to stay open for the past three years. It has been an incredible experience, and we would like to give a special thanks to all of the volunteers who worked in the store, provided mentoring or did some other task for Classy Lady.
Bon Voyage! – Lynn Berube, Secretary, Board of Directors, Classy Lady.
Answer: Sun Spots is very saddened to hear this news. She wishes you all the very best of luck.
Dear Sun Spots: Great column as always!
I would like to know if there is anywhere that might offer licensing classes in phlebotomy without having to go through college. I can’t afford college right now. Hopefully, this location would be in the Lewiston Auburn area. – No Name, No Town.
Answer: According to www.cmcc.edu., Central Maine Community College (Central Maine Community College, 1250 Turner Street, Auburn, Maine 04210) will offer an introduction class to phlebotomy starting in February. While you mention not being able to afford college, Sun Spots wonders if you have checked into financial aid possibilities? You should speak with the admissions (755-5273) and registrar’s departments (755-5292) to see if they might be able to assist you with your goals.
Dear Sun Spots: I have used your services in the past and really appreciate the answers to the questions presented. Right now, I would like to know if you can please provide me with the name of a company or person who can service an old Canon copier, Model NP1500. It is one that I used in my business before I retired. – No Name, No Town.
Answer: In addition to responses from readers, contact Office Max, www.officemaxsolutions.com, 88 Union Street, Auburn, ME 04210, 782-1119. They are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sat. and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
