Dear Sun Spots: I have about 25 books in a set of Encyclopedia Britannica printed in 1939. I know they are incredibly old and yet not old enough to be valuable. I was wondering if anyone would like them, perhaps for teaching a second language. They might be useful for historical research. I can be reached via phone at 524-5933. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: I have another question. We have a lot of papers that need to be shredded and we are looking for a place to take it to be done. – No Name, No Town.

Have you considered contacting File-Busters, P.O. Box 95, Lisbon ME 04250, 514-0265, 1-800-373-7566? Along with shredding documents they also offer document storage and imaging.

Dear Sun Spots: I’m a volunteer with Rebuilding Together Lewiston Auburn and am wondering if you could please help us with finding homes for this year.

Rebuilding Together Lewiston/Auburn is a non-profit organization supported entirely by contributions of time, labor, material and money. We are dedicated to repairing homes of those who, due to financial hardship, age, and/or disability, cannot do the work themselves. Skilled and unskilled volunteers, along with able-bodied members of the recipient’s family and friends complete the repairs at no cost to the homeowner.

This is where Sun Spots column readers can assist.

If there are any readers who are unable to keep up with the repairs that are required to keep their homes safe and warm, have limited resources to provide and would like these services to be provided please fill out applications at Lewiston or Auburn city hall, Community Concepts or your local churches. The work is conducted on one weekend in April, and our organization usually accepts six to 10 houses to work on. FMI please call Todd Gagne at 577-8367. – Todd Gagne, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: This is in answer to the person asking about a dog wash (Tuesday’s Sun Spots column): There is a great new facility in the Cornwall Plaza in South Paris. It is called “Double K Kanine Kare” and is a combination doggy daycare, boarding facility as well as training and a dog wash station. You can wash your own dog or one of the employees will do it for you. The phone number is 739-2350. If you don’t reach someone at that number, call Lynda Knowlton at 595-8164. They are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Weekends are by appointment. – Jackie Stroutamyer, South Paris.
