BRUNSWICK – The Theater Project’s remedy for cabin fever, better known as the “Winter Cabaret,” will offer singing, sketch comedy, a choreographed dance piece or two – and the premiere of “So You Think You Can Mime.”
The professional ensemble will present its annual show Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25 and 26; Feb. 1-3 and Feb. 8-10.
Auditions were held, and mimes from far and wide showed up to play a part. A panel of judges winnowed the talent pool down to four finalists. Audience members will get to vote for “America’s Next Top Mime” when they compete on stage as part of the show.
Peter Dugas will play piano. Desserts by Wild Oats will be available.
Shows will be at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3 and 10 (no matinee on Sunday, Jan. 27). The Saturday, Jan. 26, show is the annual “Wear Something Red” performance benefiting The Theater Project. Tickets for that show are $36. All other tickets are $18. Reservations are recommended. For tickets, visit the theater box office at 14 School St., or call 729-8584.
