LEWISTON – The Maine Centers for Women, Work, and Community is offering a free, 3-hour workshop for anyone interested in starting a business from 9 a.m.-noon on Jan. 31, at the USM Lewiston/Auburn College, LearningWorks, 51-55 Westminster St.

The introductory workshop will offer information about the pros and cons of owning a business, how to get started, point out the major elements of a business plan, introduce the resources available in the Androscoggin County area and help with the decision if self employment is the right choice.
