WEST PARIS – Cabin Fever programs continue from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays at the West Paris Universalist Church. The programs are available to the public and include games, crafts, puzzles and socializing. A light snack is available.
Craft segments thus far have included crayon quilt squares and paper beads.
A short tai chi session was held at a recent gathering. On Thursday, Jan. 24, the craft will include stitching cards using embroidery thread. All are welcome to attend the free sessions.
Men’s club supper
PARIS The Men’s Club at the First Congregational Church in South Paris will hold a roast pork supper at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25.
The menu will include roast pork, mashed potatoes, vegetable, rolls and beverage. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children.
Proceeds will go to the minister’s discretionary fund to help offer heating assistance in the community.

Sunday services
NORWAY – Services at the First Universalist Church, 479 Main St., will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27. The church is served by the Rev. Richard Beal and Sunday’s service will be led by Beal, talking on “Why not Quarternity?”
The church choir rehearses at 9:30 a.m. Sundays and anyone who would like to sing is invited. Child care is provided. All are welcome.
Saturday supper
CASCO – The Casco Village United Church of Christ, Route 121, will hold its monthly Saturday night supper, featuring “Crock Pot-pourri,” from 5 to 6 p.m. Jan. 26. There will be crock pot specialties, rolls, salads, beverages and homemade pies. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
The meal is sponsored by the CVC high school youth group, “Starburst,” and the junior high youth group, “WACT.”
Legion dance
PARIS – The Jones Dance Band will play old-fashioned dance music from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the South Paris Legion Hall, Church Street.
Adult tickets are $5.
Band members are Wallie Jones on drums, Irving Cole on guitar, Dick Abbott on saxophone, Jim Sakasky on trumpet and Tom Coolidge on keyboard. The lunch counter will be open.
4-H camps
PARIS – Summer activities for 4-H members will take place at Tanglewood 4-H Camp and Learning Center, which partners with the University of Maine.
The forest-based residential camp is situated on the Ducktrap River in the Camden Hills State Park, Lincolnville.
Blueberry Cove Camp, a marine-based camp, is located in Tenants Harbor and is an integral part of the Tanglewood experience. Blueberry Cove campers explore and learn about the seascape, which includes marine ecology, boating, water safety and sustainable living.

Papermaking
WOODSTOCK – Paul and Vicki Billings showed a video on papermaking, “From Pulpwood to Newsprint,” at the January meeting of the Woodstock Historical Society. The Maine Seaboard Paper Co. was the focus.
The Rev. Richard Beal joined the society. Vice President Annella Burnham chaired the meeting and she and Mary Billings provided refreshments. Curator Larry Billings gave the society a giant Valentine.
