POLAND – The Poland Republican town caucus will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Multi-Purpose Center on 145 Birch St. in Lewiston.

Caucus-goers will elect delegates to the county committee, state convention and ratify the membership and bylaws of the group. They’ll also provide feedback on the party’s nominee for president.

All registered Poland Republicans are welcome to participate. Others wishing to participate may register as Republicans a half hour before the meeting if they are not enrolled in another party. Also invited are Republican representatives of the presidential campaigns, U.S. congressional candidates and members of the state Legislature.

The purpose of the caucus is to elect delegates and alternates to the state convention, which will be held Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3, at the Augusta Civic Center, to elect members of the Androscoggin County Republican Committee, and to organize the Poland Republican Municipal Committee for the upcoming elections.

Republican candidates for office will be invited to address the caucus. The state party will be holding a presidential preference survey and reporting out the result in the evening Saturday, Feb. 2.
