GORHAM – Senior forward Angela Santa Fe scored 15 points to lead Southern Maine to a 64-56 victory over UMass-Boston in women’s basketball action Tuesday.

Santa Fe netted 10 of her 15 points in the second half and was 6-for-8 from the field. Gray native Dawn Ross chipped in for the Huskies (15-1) with 10 points, while Becky Dixon added nine and pulled down six rebounds.

UMass-Boston (6-9) was paced by Ashley Greene with 15 points, while Caroline Ash tallied 13 and Norma Cumbee added 12.

SMCC 63, CMCC 40

SOUTH PORTLAND – Elizabeth Oullette poured in a game-high 23 points as Southern Maine CC (12-6) defeated Central Maine CC (7-5) 63-40. Sonya O’Tash added 13 points in the win.

SMCC used a 30-17 first half to pull away from the Mustangs.

CMCC was led by Tiffany Seams and Brittany Salley with 10 points apiece. Six of Seams’ points came on 3-pointers.

Husson 74, UMF 71

FARMINGTON – Shelby Bradford scored 26 points and hauled down 13 rebounds, helping Husson rally from a 10-point deficit for a 74-71 triumph over Maine-Farmington.

Caitlyn Laflin of UMF (6-9) led all players with 34 points and 16 rebounds. Amanda Byrne added 12 points.

Men’s basketball

USM 72, UMass-Boston 62

GORHAM – Senior forward Drew Coppenrath scored a game-high 25 points to propel Southern Maine to a 72-62 victory over UMass-Boston in men’s basketball action Tuesday.

Coppenrath was an outstanding 10-for-15 from the field for the Huskies (7-9), including 5-for-7 effort from 3-point range.

Jamaal Caterina notched his fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Josh Daniels added 10 points and a game-high five assists.

UMass Boston (1-15) was paced by Amigo Paniagua with 20 points and seven rebounds.

Husson 79, UMF 74

FARMINGTON – Scott Kissinger tallied 17 of his game-high 26 points in the second half to lead Husson to a narrow 79-74 victory over Maine-Farmington.

Sheraud Lee chipped in for Husson (8-7) with 20 points, including a 7-for-7 performance from the charity stripe to close out the contest.

The Beavers (8-8) were led by Matt St. John with 17 points, while Andrew Dean tallied 12 and Isaac Hutchinson 10.
