CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – Democrats have picked up another seat in the state House of Representatives.

Democrat Maureen Mann defeated Republican Jim Sullivan in a special election on Tuesday for the House seat formerly held by Republican Bob Johnson. Johnson had been the longest-serving member of the House.

Mann and Sullivan both live in Deerfield.

Mann’s election brings the Democratic majority in the 400-member House to 240, compared to 158 seats held by Republicans.

Special elections for two other vacant seats are scheduled for next month.
