TOPSHAM – The annual meeting of the American Legion Riders of Maine will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Topsham Post 202, American Legion. There will be a light lunch served at noon and a chance to meet and talk with other Legion Riders from all over the state.
Due to unexpected growth of the organization during the year, members will conduct a business meeting to move the Legion Riders forward as they expect more posts to join. The group presently has more than 300 members, and three more posts are showing interest.
Guidelines set by the national organization will be discussed as will both a state ride and comparing calendars to share events. Bill Kilde of Topsham Post 202 will lay out the plans for the Legacy Run and fundraising programs.
The meeting is open to anyone interested in starting a Rider group. Any veteran with an honorable discharge, son, adoptive son, stepson, grandson or great-grandson of a veteran may be eligible.
