FARMINGTON – Buddah arrived at the Franklin County Animal Shelter as a private surrender; his owners could no longer keep him.

Buddah is about 18 months old and has plenty of energy and love to give. He would be the perfect playmate for any other dog or younger cats.

Staff said even though he is about 80 pounds, he still considers himself a lap dog and would love to curl up with someone. He loves to get his belly rubbed and his head scratched. He knows “sit” and “lay down.”

Staff said Buddah is intelligent and eager to please, so they feel that he will be easily trained to do new tricks.

New dogs at the shelter include a beagle/Australian cattle female dog found in Industry.

The shelter will host a competition in its cat rooms in honor of Super Bowl. One of the main rooms will be named NY Giants and the other NE Patriots.

Staff will keep track of which “team” or room will have the most cats adopted and that room will win. The competition will go from Monday, Jan. 28, through Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 3. For more information, call 778-2638.
