LISBON – Three people were hurt in a head-on collision Friday afternoon on Route 196.

Police officer Thomas Stanton Jr. said Randy Krog, 30, of Topsham was driving west on Route 196 near the Frost Hill intersection when his car veered to the right and struck a guardrail, deflecting it into the oncoming lane and head-on into a van driven by 78-year-old Leonile Carrier of Auburn.

Both drivers and Krog’s passenger, Peter Milliken, 31, of Lisbon were taken to Central Maine Medical Center.

Krog’s 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier was demolished and Carrier’s 2005 Chrysler Town and Country van had an estimated $2,000 damage in the 1:10 p.m. crash.
