MECHANIC FALLS – The Elm Street School was evacuated just before 2 p.m. Friday after a note saying there was a bomb there was found.
Principal Mary Martin said the school’s emergency response plan was implemented and, while the incident was disruptive, evacuation went smoothly with buses took students home.
Police Chief Jeffrey Goss said the school was secured and no evidence of a bomb was found. A Maine State Police dog was used to sniff for explosives, he said.
