Immigration:

Believes U.S. needs to know who’s here; business needs to comply with laws against hiring and exploiting undocumented workers. Supports deploying new technology that can help stop the flow of undocumented immigrants into the country and an employer verification system that is universal, accurate and timely.

Iraq:

Within first 60 days of administration, would convene Joint Chiefs of Staff, secretary of Defense and National Security Council and direct them to draw up a clear, viable plan to bring troops home. Also work to bring stability to the region and replace military force with a new diplomatic initiative to engage other countries in securing future.

Energy:

Would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent from 1990 levels by 2050 and cut foreign oil imports by two-thirds from 2030 projected levels, more than 10 million barrels per day. Automakers would be asked to make more efficient vehicles; oil and energy companies to invest in cleaner, renewable technologies.

Health care:

Under American Health Choices Plan, working families would receive a refundable tax credit to help afford coverage; everyone would be required to get and keep insurance. Array of benefits would be at least as good as typical plan offered to members of Congress.

Economy:

Would enact five-part stimulus package: $30 billion Emergency Housing Crisis Fund to help states and cities mitigate the effects of foreclosures; $25 billion in emergency energy assistance for families facing skyrocketing heating bills; $5 billion in energy efficiency and alternative energy investments to jump-start green-collar job growth; and $10 billion to extend and broaden unemployment insurance.
