Wednesday, 4 p.m.

Early-season weather patterns did more favors for cross-country skiers than the ones on the hill; local teams now playing catch-up with state meets looming.

Swimming

EL vs. Lewiston, Lewiston YWCA

Friday, 7 p.m.

State qualifying times still the carrot on the stick for some competitors. Oh, and of course, riverside bragging rights.

Wrestling

KVAC Championship at Cony; Mid-State Championship at Fryeburg

Saturday, 9 a.m.

Lisbon, Dirigo and Mountain Valley are a safe a bet for 1-2-3 (in no particular order) at MSLs as Tom Brady playing on Sunday.

Nordic skiing

Jon Sassi Memorial at Black Mountain

Saturday, 10 a.m.

Thankfully, it looks like there will be plenty of snow this year for one of local skiing’s special events.
