I was surprised that the picture of the three teenage boys inside a home with a man clearing snow off the roof upset Diana Smith (letter, Jan. 21).

That one picture did not tell the whole story. Did Smith know why the boys were indoors?

Just because they were indoors, why does that make them a target for comments such as lazy and obese?

She asked what is that man telling them? He may very well have told them to stay indoors so they would not be in the way of falling snow, and out of danger.

We all know how fast an accident can happen.

Good, bad or indifferent, we each raise our children our own way. Those boys may very well have been doing as they were told to do – “Stay in the house.”
