Sherri Welch-Henckel of Montana and a 1992 Jay High School graduate, reaches down to adjust a hat on son, Linden, 1, while son, Alex, 4, looks on Tuesday as they stop for a moment on frozen Wilson Pond in Wilton. Welch-Henckel pulled her children across the snow-covered ice on a sled to take them sliding on a hill at Kineowatha Park. She left the state about 16 or 17 years and remembers riding her bike from Bean’s Corner in Jay go swimming at the pond. They took a train to Maine in early January and will get back on the train March 2 to head home to Missoula. She and her children are visiting her parents, Ben Welch of Dixfield and Olive Savage of Jay. “I want them to get to know their grandchildren better,” she said.
