Lewiston – The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a four-session Sales Boot Camp at its office, 415 Lisbon St. beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 6, and running for four consecutive Wednesdays from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Attendees should gain insight and exposure to the key areas of sales success. Presented by Jim McCarthy, vice president of sales and one of the trainers of the Sandler Sales Institute, this program is designed for professional sales people, business owners, and non-traditional selling professionals such as bankers, accountants, and engineers.

The topic for session 1, on Feb. 6, will be “Why prospects buy the way they do and the effect it has on your selling ability” teaches why your prospects have their own buying system and how they make you, the sales person, follow their system. Attendees can learn what is happening when following the buyer’s system, and what to do to maximize chances for success.

The topic for session 2, Feb. 13, will be “Become a master of the dreaded phone. Learn to set appointments over the phone and face to face.” This seminar will teach attendees how to get past the gatekeeper, talk directly to decision makers, and get appointments.

The topic for session 3, Feb. 20, will be “Filling the pipeline with qualified prospects. Stop the rollercoaster and maintain your pipeline with quality prospects.” This seminar teaches why top achievers get to the top of the pack.

The last session will be on Feb. 27. The topic will be: “The four elements of success and the five major weaknesses.” Attendees will learn to recognize their own weaknesses and to understand that they must come out of their comfort zone to overcome those weaknesses. Attendees will then learn the four elements of success in sales.

McCarthy is vice president and a sales trainer for the Sandler Sales Institute in South Portland, a leader in training with over 200 offices worldwide. McCarthy has published articles on selling and has been a keynote speaker for national conventions and meetings.
