AUBURN – A dinner gathering was held recently at the Sedgley Place in Greene for Raymond and Carmen LaRue of Auburn, celebrating the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The event was hosted by their children, Sheila Libby of Auburn, Carol Tupikow and her husband, Jurij, of Massachusetts, and James LaRue and his wife, Karen, of Mechanic Falls.
Their daughter, Carol, presented a special toast to the couple. Their son, James, took photos during the gathering.
Their granddaughter, Elizabeth Kodpuak and her husband, Neg, gave a special anniversary cake, made in Boston. Their children presented them with a stained glass mural. Their son and daughter-in-law created a DVD that displayed photos dating back to the couple’s childhood through their 50 years together, while the couple’s favorite songs played in the background.
Mr. LaRue and the former Carmen Poisson were married Nov. 30, 1957, at Holy Family Church in Lewiston.
In addition to their children, the couple’s grandchildren are Neg and Elizabeth Kodpuak, Ian Libby, Amy Tupikow, Jamison Tupikow and Colin LaRue.
