FARMINGTON – Mt. Blue upped the defensive pressure in the third quarter to break the game open and roll to a 46-30 triumph over Hampden.

Leading 20-14 at halftime, the Cougars (5-11) went on a 19-4 run in the third quarter to take command. Amelia Allen led Mt. Blue with 10 points and Sabrina Keach added nine. Kayla Webb scored 10 points for the Broncos.

Morse 50, Edward Little 45

BATH – Held to 23 points through three quarters, Edward Little roared back, but its comeback fell short in a 50-45 loss to Morse.

The Red Eddies (8-8) fought back from a 33-23 deficit to start the fourth to trail 48-45 in the final minute, but their tying 3-point attempt missed the mark.

Kirsten Prue led EL with a game-high 28 points, including five 3-pointers. Beth Suggs and Maggie Smith scored 11 points each for Morse (13-3).

Traip 42, St. Dom’s 37

AUBURN – Ali Higgins dropped in a game-high 17 points and Jordyn Cronen added 13 as Traip Academy held off St. Dom’s 42-37 in a girls’ basketball game Saturday.

The Saints built a slim 18-17 advantage in the first half before the Rangers (8-6) rallied in the second half with a combined 25 points. Higgins and Cronen combined for five 3-pointers.

For the Saints (9-8), Catherin Joseph led the way with 13 points and Allaina Murphy added 10.

Cony 70, Oxford Hills 34

SOUTH PARIS – Rachaell Mack poured in 24 points as Cony cruised to a 70-34 triumph over Oxford Hills in a KVAC girls’ basketball game Saturday.

The Rams led 39-14 at the half and held Vikings’ leading scorer Kari Pelletier to just six points. Shelby Pelkey added 17 for Cony with Brittany Ford adding 10.

Pelletier, Kyla Martin and Laura Courcy each scored six to lead the Vikings.

Georges Valley 39, Lisbon 34

LISBON – Georges Valley limited Lisbon to two points in the third quarter to assume the lead, then had to hang on for a 39-34 triumph.

Ashley Geel led the Bucs (10-6) with 14 points. Christy McAuliffe had a double-double for the Greyhounds (10-7) with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Emily Moore added 11 points and nine rebounds.

Gray-New Gloucester 50, Freeport 31

GRAY – Chelsea Durgin popped in 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds as Gray-New Gloucester defeated Freeport 50-31 in girls’ basketball Saturday.

The Patriots (9-7) led by 11 at the half and opened up a 43-23 lead after three quarters.

Rachel Foster led Freeport (2-14) with 12 points.

Mt. Abram 65, Jay 35

JAY – Junior forward Kenni Norton tabulated a game-high 23 points to lead Mt. Abram to a 65-35 victory over Jay in MVC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Roadrunners (10-5 jumped out to a first quarter 20-4 lead. Senior center Janessa Thomas had eight field goals and a pair of free throws for 18 points and six offensive rebounds for Mt. Abram.

Sophomore forward Hillary Deane recorded a team-high 15 points for the Tigers (8-7) in the losing effort.
