LEWISTON – The Lewiston City Democratic Committee will hold its presidential caucus at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Lewiston High School. Participants will select presidential preferences, choose delegates to the Democratic State Convention, and elect city officers and county committee members.
Doors will open at noon for registered Democrats to check in. City staff will be available to register unenrolled (Independent) and unregistered voters who wish to participate in the caucus.
Doors will close at 1 p.m. for the caucus to be called to order. Presidential preference is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
Any Lewiston resident age 17 who will be 18 by Nov. 4 may register and participate in the caucus.
Residents not currently registered in a political party who would like to enroll as Democrats may also do so at city hall. The deadline for registered Greens or Republicans to change their registration was Jan. 26.
Registered Democrats unable to attend may vote by absentee ballot by calling the Maine Democratic headquarters at 622-6233. Completed ballots must arrive no later than Feb. 6 at the headquarters in Augusta to be included in the delegate count.
