PORTLAND (AP) – A man who allegedly charged at Portland police while armed with a loaded pistol has been charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.

The incident occurred Friday night when police responded to a complaint about a loud party on Romasco Lane.

After officers knocked repeatedly at the door, Robert Dyer allegedly burst from the apartment and charged into the hallway while holding a cocked and loaded .45-caliber pistol.

Police said the officers were about a foot away when the door opened and were able to grab Dyer and disarm him. There were no reports of injuries.
